Recycling Resources:
- The city of Nashua Division of Public Works, Solid Waste Department provides safe and efficient services for residents and businesses of Nashua in the areas of recycling, solid waste, and hazardous waste, through:
- Curbside collection of most residential trash, recycling, seasonal soft yard wastes, and special collections.
- Operation of the Four Hills Landfill/ Nashua Recycling Center.
- Drop-off events at the household hazardous waste/ small quantity generator waste collection center.
- Specific programs for Nashua residents and businesses:
- Plastic and glass bottles, cans, and steel cans are picked up curbside on a bi-weekly basis. Residents may also deposit these items at the Recycling Center located at the Four Hills Landfill.
- Paper, cardboard, phone books, etc. are also picked up curbside on a bi-weekly basis. Residents may also deposit these items at the Recycling Center located at the Four Hills Landfill.
- Soft Yard waste is picked up curbside on a bi-weekly basis, residents may also bring soft yard waste, limbs, stumps, etc to the Four Hills Landfill during regular operations.
- Books, audio and/or video tapes, CDs, and DVDs may be donated at the Four Hills Landfill in the "Got Books?" bin located in the Recycling Center. For more information on the donation program visit the Got Books? web site.
- Special collections either at home of at a Public Works facility are performed for the following items:
- Large Metal Items: Appliances, hot water heaters, the detachable frame from a sleep sofa, etc., are collected when pickup begins. Up to 3 items per year will be taken at no charge; the cost for extra items will be $25 each. With a valid residential permit, a resident may take the item directly to the Landfill for disposal at no charge. Please call 589-3410 to make a request for collection. - Oversize Bulky waste (mattresses, some furniture, bundles of brush, etc.) Up to 5 items per year will be taken at no charge; the cost for extra items will be $25 each. With a valid residential permit, a resident may take the item directly to the Landfill for no disposal charge. Please call 589-3410 to make a request for collection. - Tires. Up to 4 tires per year may be called in for pickup at no charge, or, with a valid residential permit , a resident may take their items directly to the Landfill; NO commercial tires are accepted at curbside or at the Four Hills Landfill.
